The Reception class have been working hard to create some snowy Christmas scenes this week.
When children are healthy, happy and safe, curiosity is ignited and learning is optimised. In this section, you will find out what children in school and nursery have been learning this week.

Key Stage One had an Advent experience morning in school hosted and organised by Sue and Rebecca from All Saint's Church, Broseley. We learnt all about the meaning behind advent and what the four candles represent. We made bookmarks saying 'Hope' for the first Sunday of Advent and made crowns for the kings. Thank you for such a lovely morning, we really enjoyed it!
Year 1 have been learning about electricity in Science this term. This week, we constructed a simple circuit and learnt about what a circuit needs to be complete. The children then made their own Christmas Decorations and lit them up using a simple circuit!
Year 4 have been working on their art skills to build up to making a multimedia image of a Viking Longship travelling to the UK from Scandinavia.
We explored different effects to create the background of the sea, including using wax resist, scumbling and blending. We also created a weave for the flag on our ship.
Thank you to our fabulous PTA for taking the time to organise, support and participate in the fabulous cinema trip. It was a lovely morning for both the children and adults.
Years 3 and 4 were learning to chop, cut and grate to make healthy homemade vegetable crisps!
In year 4, they have been setting up simple practical investigations to see how sound works.
They have been observing what they can see, hear, feel when:
rice is placed upon a drum and tapped in different ways.
A tuning fork is hit and put it into water
A stringed instrumentis plucked in different places
A very enjoyable afternoon of experimenting!
Funkey Maths!
Year 6 love our funkey maths days!
In pairs, they play various card-based games that help support their X table recall.
Year 1 are learning about significant people in history. We learnt about Neil Armstrong and his mission to the moon. We made our very own Apollo 11 rockets!
The Reception class have been reading stories about Winnie the Witch and we have set up a potions kitchen in the classroom. We went to forest school to mix some particularly nasty potions for the witch. The children had some really good ideas for ingredients!
Children in Nursery have had a lovely time thinking about the meaning behind 'Children In Need'. They've been busy making posters and masks and look fabulous with their spotty outfits on.
The Reception class started their topic about 'Marvellous Machines' by investigating machines we find in school. They all had a go at hoovering!
