Year 1 have been learning about poetry this week. We really enjoy listening to poems in class! We learnt the poem 'Where teacher's keep their pets' together and practiced performing it to our class.

In Y5 we are continuing to learn about how light travels. We made our own periscopes with cereal boxes and mirrors.

The Year 6s have loved this story so much and it has been an absolute pleasure to watch their versions of different chapters and characters.
The Reception class picked their lettuces today. If you took one home, we hope you enjoyed it! Continuing our theme about the sea, the children studied the painting 'Les Betes de la Mer' by Matisse and created our own class version.
In Geography, Year One have been learning about litter and how to be responsible for our local environment. In forest school today, the children used litter pickers to clean up the woodland and playground! They have been really passionate about helping our local animals thrive and cleaning up our planet.
As part of our science and PSHE work we have been learning about ourselves and other animals. This week we have been learning about healthy lifestyles and how to keep our hearts healthy. Look at what we have been finding out!
The Year 6s have been practising their sewing ready for their make do and mend creations next week.
We practised: running stitch, whip stitch and blanket stitch.

Year 4 had a fantastic afternoon at Haycop Nature Reserve taking part in an invertebrate hunt! We discovered different invertebrates in different microhabitats and made some very intriguing finds!
The Reception class are having great success with their growing area. We have harvested our second bowl of stawberries, the broad beans are growing well and we are going to sample our lettuces later this week.
Children in Nursery have enjoyed climbing trees at Welly Wanderers this week. They showed great control over their bodies and thought about how to keep themselves safe!
In Year 3 we have been learning about forces and the effect of friction on a moving vehicle.
In Y5 we are learning about light in Science. We worked in pairs to make models to show how light travels and how we see objects around us.
