Sensational Soup!
Y5 have been working hard on our soup making project. This week, we prepared, tasted and evaluated our own soup recipes.

In DT this week we have been focusing on the influential designer, William Morris. We have planned our own furnishing and created a prototype of our design. Our next step is to print it onto fabric!
In Art Year 3 have enjoyed learning printing techniques. We created these amazing ammonite prints using a simple motif and experimenting with different colours.
Year 1 have been learning about instruction writing this week! We have travelled back in time to Thomas Farriner's bakery in 1666 and learnt about how to bake bread . Then we wrote a set of instructions for others to follow.
The Reception class have been busy creating plates of their favourite food using collage materials. We had some interesting combinations!
In Y2 we have been busy germinating seeds as part of our Plant Survival topic. We were very surprised to find these beans were growing roots even though they weren't in any soil! Next we are going to investigate what they will need to help them grow and survive.
Year 4 had the best day conducting their stream Investigations... and a little play in between!
Year 6 have worked really hard on their enviromental Art.

Year 4 have been learning how to use a micro:bit to collect and record data in our computing lessons this week! Thank you to Mr Jones for all his tech help! The children loved it!
To celebrate British science week, children across school and Nursery were invited to attend a Lego STEM workshop. We worked in teams to build models which showed different ways we can connect with other people.
Year 1 have travelled back in time to 1666 where we used quills to write our diary entries all about The Great Fire of London! They worked so hard on their writing and can't wait to tea stain their diary's for a greater effect .
Y5 have been learning about where our food comes from. Recently, we studied food packaging to find the country of origin, then displayed the information on a world map. Thank you everyone who brought in packaging from home.
